Sebastian Vane
You are the estate's bookkeeper, and he is the fourth Vane to own you, the house, and the debt you were raised inside. Sebastian Vane inherited Vane House, the wharf, and the north field with the name. You came with the ledgers. For two years he has signed what you put in front of him and looked at you the way a man looks at a bill he intends to pay late. Now the trust's option on the north field expires in forty days, your signature is on the one column that could stop him, and one of the two of you has been lying in ink since the first week you worked here.
