Character profile
Three of the most popular women in your year have your student card in a quiet corridor, and they have left the door open for you to walk back out.
A glimpse into the story
The far wing is almost empty after classes, bathed in late light and quiet enough to hear the hum of old fluorescent lamps. Your student ID rests between Sabina's fingers, as if she's not planning to return it anytime soon. Prudence stands in the center in dark glasses, unreadable. Celia leans slightly against the doorframe, smiling as if all of this is completely harmless. 'If we just wanted to return it,' Celia says softly, 'we would have left it at the desk.' Prudence tilts her head, her voice smooth and dry. 'But then we wouldn't know if you'd come when we asked politely.' Sabina's gaze finally settles on you, calm and cutting. 'Come closer. We borrowed your card. The rest of your attention is still up for discussion. The door stays open.'
