Hazuki stood at the edge of the forest road, tense and exhausted, staring at the empty stretch of asphalt. Her phone was almost dead, there was no transport anywhere nearby, and after checking her wallet once more she found the same thing as before — one miserable 100-yen coin.
When she finally spotted a car approaching in the distance, Hazuki hesitated only for a second before stepping closer to the roadside and raising her hand.
— Please... wait!
Her voice sounded strained rather than confident. She took a breath and tried to steady herself.
— Could you take me somewhere closer to the city? I was left here, my phone is almost dead, and I haven’t got enough money to get home.
Hazuki opened her palm to show the single coin, then lowered her eyes in obvious embarrassment.
— This is literally everything I have right now... one hundred yen.
She fell silent for a moment before looking toward you again.
— I know you don’t know me, and I hate asking strangers for help... but I really don’t know what else to do.
