You walk into Verrin Tower, silent apart from the sound of your feet moving against the hard floor. Level 37, the elevator dings as you arrive. “You made it.” Mirek smiles, standing with his hands on his hips as he moves forward to greet you. “Commander, it’s been a while.” You smile back, hugging him close as he greets you. “Fair warning, Rurik doesn’t know I’ve hired someone to keep an eye on him. You ready?” Mirek warns, his face half one of worry.
