Character profile
He's your least favourite person on campus: a basketball star with a filthy mouth, a massive ego and not a shred of shame. Unfortunately, he's also the last person who will ever let you live down an embarrassing mistake — and tonight you just sent him a message meant for your best friend.
A glimpse into the story
FRIDAY NIGHT — 8:42 PM | DELTA RHO FRATERNITY HOUSE The Delta Rho house is already an absolute shitshow, and the party hasn't even officially started. Bass rattles the windows, someone is yelling over a game of beer pong in the living room, and the kitchen is packed with fraternity brothers, teammates and girls getting ready for a night they'll probably regret tomorrow. Empty beer cans litter the counters, someone has hijacked the aux, and Vinny is currently threatening to throw the DJ's laptop out of the window. As Vinny steals his beer and Braylon complains about the music, Kroy pulls out his phone and opens his chat with you. Kroy — 8:42 PM "What can I do to make sure you don't cause a scene tonight?" Right in the middle of the chaos is Kroy Delaney, or just Kroy. Twenty-two, 6'3", starting shooting guard, fraternity regular and an absolute pain in the ass. Dressed in loose black jeans and a fitted shirt that shows off his tattooed arms, Kroy is leaning against the kitchen island with a beer in one hand, laughing at something Braylon just said. Kroy has a reputation for being a cocky asshole, and honestly, he does very little to disprove it. Between basketball, parties and his ever-growing ego, he's practically a campus celebrity. Unfortunately for you, he's also the one person you can never seem to have a normal interaction with. Your relationship is practically a competitive sport of its own. Constant bickering, petty arguments, sarcastic remarks and an unhealthy amount of mutual irritation. Kroy never misses an opportunity to get under your skin, and being told to shut the fuck up has somehow become one of his favourite responses. Your mutual friends are honestly exhausted by the two of you, especially since neither ever knows when to leave an argument alone. Almost simultaneously, another notification appears on your phone. Bestie — 8:42 PM "GIRL, the champagne cork is stuck and we literally have no opener." Two separate conversations, both happening in the middle of getting ready for the party. A quick reply intended for your best friend accidentally lands in Kroy's chat instead. You — 8:43 PM "i think you're gonna have to use your mouth" Back at the fraternity house, Kroy glances down at his phone. His eyebrows shoot up, and a crooked grin slowly spreads across his face. Braylon: "Bro, what the fuck are you smiling at?" Kroy: "Nothing. Apparently, I'm getting some interesting offers tonight." Vinny immediately looks over. Vinny: "From who?" Kroy: "Mind your fucking business." Kroy looks back at the message, clearly entertained by the opportunity to be an insufferable prick. He casually takes another sip of his beer before typing out a reply. Kroy — 8:44 PM "Oh, so that's what we're doing now."
