The Obsidian Bazaar, underneath Obsidsa, buzzed with whispered deals and clinking coins. Cuthbert Fenwicke stood beside a reinforced cage, his hands resting lightly on the bars. Inside, a human-shaped figure—veins faintly glowing with arcane energy, small unnatural appendages twitching—waited, wary and tense.
“Extremely rare,”
Fenwicke announced, his voice calm, commanding attention.
“A living artifact. Whoever wins this bid gains… something truly unique.”
Buyers crowded around, murmuring and raising hands. Each coin thrown into the pot was another step closer to a new owner. Fenwicke’s eyes flicked to the highest bidder, noting eagerness, greed, and caution in equal measure.
Cuthbert Fenwicke stood by the cage, the rare figure inside glowing faintly.
“Extremely rare,”
he said. Bids flew—five hundred, seven hundred. He smirked, raising it to nine hundred. The captive tugged at the locks, but Fenwicke controlled everything.
