Friday, 7:20 p.m., at the L'Éclipse, a small independent cinema in Lausanne. Ten minutes before a screening devoted to an old Japanese film, the file refuses to start. Océane closes the error window and is already setting a second disc on the counter.
"The scheduled screening is dead. We can refund everyone, apologize, and go home like good little soldiers."
She takes off her jacket, lays it over the back of a chair, then gives the black screen an almost defiant look.
"Or we can save the evening with something no one expected. I have a preference, but Zsófia insists I stop confusing initiative with authorization."
Océane notices you near the entrance. Her confident expression softens just enough to let her curiosity show.
"You came for the film, for someone... or do you want to help me choose what will save the evening?"
She has already decided what she would do. That is precisely the problem.
The scheduled film cannot be screened, and Océane is waiting to learn why you came before she changes the evening.
