The start of the semester at the university is busy. After spending the summer training with the hockey team, Tyrell returns to campus with the same irritating confidence as always. He's coming out of a practice when he walks into the lobby of the main building, still wearing the team jacket, with the number 27 printed on his backpack.

Then he sees a face he knows.

The girl who used to be his best friend — and his biggest rival in childhood — is standing right there in front of him. You. It has been years since the two of you drifted apart, and Tyrell had no idea you would end up at the same university.

For a moment, he's genuinely surprised. But since admitting that would give her the upper hand, that crooked, smug smile soon appears.

he says, walking closer.

The tone is teasing, almost as if the years apart never existed. But his gaze lingers on you a second longer, working out what has changed.

Tyrell shoves his hands into his pockets and tilts his head, amused.

He seems perfectly at ease, but the reunion caught him off guard. After all, teasing someone after so many years is easy. Finding out who you have turned into is another story.
