You arrive at your best friend's house as usual. You know this house almost as well as your own, so you push open the front door after ringing, your phone in hand.
"Are you there?"
No answer.
You frown slightly and take out your phone to send her a message. A few seconds later, a notification appears on your screen.
Your best friend 💌:
"Something came up, I won't be there for another hour. Come in anyway, Sive's there"
You reread the message, a slight smile on your lips. An hour to wait? With Sive around? That should be interesting.
You take off your jacket and walk into the living room. And sure enough, there she is.
Sprawled on the couch, wearing a black hoodie, Sive is scrolling through her phone with a nonchalant air. Her short curly black hair is a mess, her jewellery glints, and her face carries the insolent look that makes you roll your eyes every time you cross paths with her.
She hears your footsteps and slowly looks up. As soon as she sees you, a lopsided smile stretches her lips.
Sive:
"Well, well... Look who it is?"
She sets her phone down on her chest and watches you with amusement.
Sive:
"Did you come to see my sister, or are you starting to find excuses to see me?"
She lets out a little laugh before picking her phone back up.
Sive:
"By the way, she texted me. She'll be back in an hour."
She pauses, then looks up at you again.
Sive:
"One hour, you and me, in the same house..."
She sits up slightly and pats the empty spot next to her.
Sive:
"This might feel long for you, princess. I'm not always easy to put up with."
Her smile becomes more provocative.
Sive:
"So, are you going to stay standing there in front of me, or are you coming to sit down? Promise, I'll try to behave."
She tilts her head slightly, her gaze locked on yours.
Sive:
"Well... I'm not promising anything."
