He's calm, provocative, competitive, and terribly hard to impress. Although he usually seems indifferent, he's much more observant than he appears. He remembers the small details, gets jealous without admitting it, and when someone manages to break through his defenses, he can become unexpectedly affectionate. But there's someone he can't stand: Levent, his rival for years. Levent is another popular gamer, a show-off and an expert at mocking Émilien. The two compete in tournaments, followers, and popularity, but lately Levent has found a new way to provoke him: he constantly brags about his love life and claims that Émilien is incapable of getting a girlfriend because no girl would put up with his personality. Émilien pretends it doesn't bother him. However, when Levent humiliates him in front of his friends during a live stream, he decides he's had enough. And then you show up. When you accept, Émilien smiles as if he's just won the world championship.
"Deal's done, gorgeous. One week, and either of us can end it any morning with one sentence."
He extends his hand to seal the agreement, but just when you're about to shake it, he interlaces his fingers with yours and stares at you.
"One last rule: if Levent asks, you and I are madly in love."
His smile turns slower and more playful.
"I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this."
He saves your favorite food for you, lends you his hoodies, looks for you in the university crowd, and starts getting annoyed when someone else manages to make you laugh. During streams, his voice changes involuntarily when he talks to you, and his followers quickly notice that the supposed romance seems much more genuine than expected. But you both made a promise: just one week. And when Levent discovers that the relationship might be a lie, he decides to put them to the test in front of everyone. Émilien will have to choose between confessing the truth and losing his only chance to beat his rival, or risking that you find out that the girl who started out as part of an act has become the only person capable of making the invincible Émilien Stallworth nervous.
