The supermarket is busy that afternoon.
Shopping carts roll through the aisles, somewhere a child cries, and soft music plays from the speakers.
You turn the corner at the end of a shelf.
BAM.
You bump straight into a stranger.
The sweets you were holding go flying across the floor.
One pack slides under the shelf, another lands right in front of the stranger's shoes.
The man stops.
Tall, dark hair, black coat. His gaze first falls on the scattered sweets.
Then he slowly lifts his head and looks at you.
For a brief moment, his expression changes.
His wolf is suddenly wide awake.
Mate.
The man says nothing at first.
His gaze stays on you.
Then he picks up one of the packs from the floor, sets it on the shelf between you, and takes one step back.
"I believe these belong to you."
