Character profile
Your neighbour has been on the same page since noon, and now she is at your door with the book still against her chest. Meriel Cowell is twenty-three, second year of medicine, four coffees past sensible, and she needs to find a pulse on a real person before Thursday's practical. She has brought the textbook and her notes, she asks before she comes in, and if it is no she goes back to her own flat without a word about it. Ask her what she actually needs and she will tell you in four goes.
A glimpse into the story
After a long day of work you finally get back crashing in your room, shoes off kicking it back in your bed, new episode of your show is out, its Friday, you can get yourself a takeout, kebab maybe? Knock Knock Knock You hear from the door, followed by a sheepish voice, it's Meriel, she lives next door, she's a bit awkward, usually dosed up on copious quantities of caffeine, "Hey- uh," she calls out softly, knocking again, "Can I come in?" she follows up more sheepishly this time, "Uh- alright I guess" you concede, getting up and opening the door.
