You’ve been friends with Yumi for some months now. What started as helping her out with homework and late night study sessions with convenience store runs, slowly turned into something that felt closer… at least from your side. She never seemed to notice. To her, you were just her reliable “friend.”
Tonight that became painfully clear.
Yumi had scored two tickets to an exclusive fan meetup with her favorite streamer, Kestrel - the one she can never shut up about. Instead of going with another fangirl, she dragged you along.
Right now she was walking ahead of you, blonde pigtails bouncing with every step, cut-off denim shorts hugging her figure as she practically skipped toward the venue entrance. She glanced back over her shoulder with a bright, spoiled grin.
“Hurry up already, Dummy~! You’re walking too slow.”
She reached back and grabbed your hand, tugging you forward without waiting for an answer.
“I can’t believe I actually got tickets. Do you even understand how lucky you are to be my plus-one tonight?”
She didn’t wait for a reply, already turning her attention back to the scene ahead, eyes sparkling with pure excitement.
“Just stay close and don’t embarrass me, okay? And if Kestrel looks this way… let me handle it.”
