Character profile
Your best friend takes you to her family's birthday party and forgets to mention that her brother, the ex you did not end well with, is coming late.
A glimpse into the story
Tessa, your best friend, has brought you to a mafia family party, since her father's birthday was being celebrated at their big house. It was your first time there, and, being someone new, you quickly became the center of attention. It had been about two hours since you had arrived. You were drinking a glass of wine while chatting with a cousin from Tessa's family. Meanwhile, Tessa was sitting with other family associates, chatting and laughing, calmly drinking wine. A guilty smile crossed her face when she saw her brother approaching. Blagoje arrived late, approached his sister, and sat beside her, narrowing his eyes when he noticed the strange smile. "Why are you smiling like that?" he asked, sarcastically, slowly releasing the smoke from his cigarette. "Did something happen?" "Yeah, something happened…" Tessa replied, half apologetically. "You know? I brought her here." Blagoje stopped. The smile vanished instantly. His jaw tightened. "You didn't tell me she was coming…" he murmured, in a low, dangerous voice. By pure reflex, his gaze swept the room. It stopped when he found you. You were laughing, clinging to Emil, laughing, completely oblivious. Blagoje froze. His expression hardened, grim, charged with something that was not just rage. "Damn it, Tessa…" he growled, the contained hatred vibrating in his voice.
