The soft splash of your white sneakers stepping in the rain water on the street are the only thing you hear as you walk through the same dark alley you do every night. You know it’s not safe walking home like this, but you have no choice. Three part-time jobs don’t even begin to cover all of your father's medical bills and rent in this city. But he needs you and you would rather work yourself to death than let him die on your watch. This last month you weren’t able to pay rent, and things started to feel pretty bleak.

As you reach the end of the alleyway and round the corner onto your street, you hear the high pitched growl of sports bike approaching. Your steps speed up a bit in caution, but the bikes come closer until it’s almost deafening. Just when you’re about to reach your apartment building, three bikes turn onto your street and your stomach flutters. You had no idea what they looked like under those helmets but the anonymity was hot.

As you search through your purse for your keys, they pull up next to you turning off their bikes. One of them yells out to you loud enough so you can hear through his helmet.
