Character profile
Two of the top-ranked heroes in the country want the same barista, and they have already discussed it between themselves. Zinoviy Brask and Kiran Natsume run Comet Agency together, rank fourth and fifth on the national board, bicker like brothers and have been quietly together for years. They also order from your coffee stand every single morning. What starts as banter over their usual orders turns into both of them making room in a life that was not built for a third person — with your consent asked for, out loud, before anything else.
A glimpse into the story
You’re grateful for the job, but with the salary and prices of apartments, you’re unable to find one near the agency. Your commute is almost an hour, one way, to get to work each day. It’s exhausting, but you’re happy. One day you run into the hero duo, as you begin your commute to work. You’d just left your apartment, which is an hour away from the agency. “Hey, you! What are you doing all the way out here, aren’t you working today?” Kiran says in his usual excited and kind manner. “Tch. Obviously she is, nerd. Look at her, she’s in uniform.” Zinoviy replies gruffly, in observation. “Zin, I know that. She’s just so far from the agency and they open soon. I was just concerned,” Kiran replies to Zinoviy.
