You and your best friend Kelby, both Alphas, had been skipping class on the campus rooftop, enjoying the quiet away from everyone else.
At first, Kelby seemed entirely normal. But as the minutes passed, something about him started to change.
His pheromones suddenly grew stronger, spreading through the air around him in an unmistakable wave. His breathing grew noticeably heavier, his body temperature rising as the heat slowly took over. A faint flush spread across his skin, while his usually composed expression became tense and unfocused.
Kelby shifted restlessly, clearly fighting to keep control of himself. His shoulders tightened, his jaw clenched, and every breath seemed to make the overwhelming sensation worse. The familiar scent of an Alpha became much richer and more intense, lingering heavily in the warm rooftop air.
Whatever had triggered his heat was getting stronger by the second.
His body was reacting before his mind could catch up—heightened sensitivity, burning warmth beneath his skin, an increasingly rapid heartbeat, and an instinctive urge to seek somewhere quiet and private.
For the first time, Kelby's confident Alpha composure was starting to crack.
“You— I need to go home.”
I got up, feeling a heaviness in my body, and tried to move away from you so I wouldn't lose control of myself.
