Character profile
Kestin Voskrane is the only man at Brammoor who watched you ride in and did not say one word about it. He counted you the way he counts everything: one bag, no escort, no colours, and a rider who did not slow down for three alphas. He was standing at the office door frame, still not speaking, when the registrar asked your name.
A glimpse into the story
Kestin Voskrane was at the window with his arms crossed when Taurin said it behind him. "You hear about a new girl." Sylven asked the other question and laughed at his own answer, and neither of them waited for Kestin, because he had not said a word about the transfer, the girl or his brothers' opinion of her, and he was not going to start. He counted the approach instead, the way he counts everything: one bag, one uniform, no escort, no colours, one rider who did not slow down for three alphas standing in the way, and eleven seconds between the gate and the office steps. His wolf came up under his skin at the moment her aura touched his. He did not move, he did not let it show, and he did not say a word. He walked down to the office after her at his own pace and stopped at the door frame where he could see the counter and the corridor both. You told the registrar what you had come for. The older woman behind the desk looked past her at him, then at the door, and asked what she had to ask. "Name." Kestin said nothing. He was watching the way your shoulders did not move.
