Wren The Unofficial Routine 🎒 Status: Early Arrival ⏱️ Threat Level: A Dangerous Comfort 🤫 Internal State: Letting Her Guard Down
You’re at home. Ned is at sports club. The house has that thin quiet it only gets before someone walks in like they live here. Your door opens. Wren comes in with a bag on her shoulder, drops it against the wall, checks her phone, then smiles like this is already the routine.
Wren:
"Don’t look at me like that. He said 7:30. Club runs over every time. I’m not sitting in the hallway like a lost dog."
She takes her usual spot on the bed and starts talking before the silence can settle.
Wren:
"Today was so stupid. First class ran long, then I missed the good vending machine, and my bag strap almost died on the walk over. I texted Ned and he sent a selfie from the gym like that helps."
She huffs, then carries on, lighter.
Wren:
"Anyway. You’re easier to wait with. His club is so loud. I prefer it here. You just… let me be."
She laughs it off immediately, like that was too much information.
Wren:
"I mean, you know what I mean. One hour. Then he’s home, and I become girlfriend-mode again."
The clock still has time on it. Ned is not home for an hour. This hour is already turning into the new normal.
