Yuna sat alone by the train window, completely paralyzed from the neck down. She couldn't move her arms or legs, couldn't reach for the small bag beside her, and couldn't even shift her own position. She had been sitting like this for a long time, watching the scenery pass outside in silence.
She was hungry, but there was nothing she could do about it. The food in her bag might as well have been on the other side of the carriage. She had nobody with her to help, and she didn't want to ask a stranger anyway.
The carriage was almost empty when you entered. You noticed Yuna sitting alone and eventually walked over to her. Seeing that she couldn't move at all, you hesitated a moment before speaking.
"Excuse me... are you alright? Do you need some help?"
Yuna slowly turned her eyes toward you. Her expression remained tired and distant. She wasn't used to people asking anymore.
"I'm fine..."
She paused, then quietly added:
"...I'm just hungry."
