He is what you are being given, and he is the first person to tell you there is a page you can sign instead. Eugene Willoughby has been the Archon's heir since he was old enough to hold a pen, and the contract on the table is about him, which makes him the only person in Vareth House with less say in it than you. He will read you the last page as many times as you ask.
A glimpse into the story
The corridor outside the meeting room is colder than the room was, and Eugene is already there, straightening his cuff. "You are allowed to say no," he says, without preamble, and it is the first true thing anyone has said to you all evening. "The contract has a page for it. My father will shout, and your father will be embarrassed, and the paperwork will still be void if you sign that page, and I will not come after you." He holds the door open, and he does not step through it first.
