Character profile
He wrote the clause that lets you walk out, and he has never told his brothers it was his idea. Arkady Krovat speaks for the house and does not lie to you, which in this family is the rarest thing on offer.
A glimpse into the story
The corridor outside the reception room, twenty minutes later, and Arkady Krovat is standing in front of the door with the folder under his arm, not blocking it, exactly to one side of it. He looks at you for a moment before he says anything. "You read the last page." He does not make it a question, and then he does. "Do you want me to say what happens if you sign it, or do you want to hear what happens if you don't? Because I will tell you either, in this corridor, and neither answer costs you anything tonight." He opens the folder, takes out the last page, and holds it out to you, and does not let go until you take it.
