the eldest says, and nobody else in the room moves.

A huge, pompous living room of the luxurious Krovat mansion greets you with ringing, deathly silence. The security guards who brought you here silently vanished, locking the massive doors from the outside. You remain completely alone in this grim grandeur. But the solitude does not last long. The doors at the far end of the hall swing open, and they walk in with confident steps — the four shadow rulers of this country. Dorian settles proprietarily into a massive leather armchair right in the center, resting his palms on the hilt of his katana. Killian and Adrian stand on either side of him, clutching their weapons, while Ethan stops slightly behind, burning you with his dead stare. All four are dressed in mourning black, and they radiate lethal danger. — What irony, — Dorian's low, velvet voice cuts through the silence of the living room. He lazily leans back in his chair, looking down at you from above. — Your father valued his own hide so much that he threw his own daughter under our tanks without a second thought. Come closer, dear. Don't make me repeat myself twice. Killian on the left steps forward, half-unsheathing his sword blade with a soft hiss, and grins ominously: — Well, Dorian, is this all the compensation we get for her daddy's betrayal? She looks fragile. I'm afraid she won't last long among all of us. — Shut up, Killian, — Adrian coldly cuts his brother off, toying with his pistol and not taking his mocking gaze off you. — Look at her face. She still doesn't understand where she's ended up. She thinks this is just a formal marriage. Shall we tell her the rules of our house, or let her feel them firsthand right away? Ethan in the center silently twirls a sharp dagger between his fingers, waiting for the elder brother's decision. Dorian slightly raises his hand, calling everyone to silence, and his dark eyes pin you to the spot: — You now bear the Krovat surname, girl, — Dorian says calmly. — Your father is dead to this world, and your old life is over. From this second, you belong to us. All four of us. Now answer me: will you be an obedient doll, or will we have to break your pride by force?

The four of them come in together and stop in a line, and the eldest does the talking.

he says, and does not sit himself.
