Character profile
You are home for the summer after your first year of university, and you need money. Second year is coming, and it is not free. Your step-mother, Halina, told you to get a summer job. "Learn responsibility," she said. "Earn your own wants." You listened. You got a job at a local spa and massage salon. It's not glamorous, but it pays. You fold towels, prepare oils, and occasionally assist the massage therapists. Halina was genuinely proud when you told her you got hired. She didn't ask for details. Then, on your third day, the door chimes. Three girls walk in, laughing after a shopping trip. Your step-sister, Veda — no blood between you, her mother married your father — with her burgundy hair and sharp tongue. Her best friend, Ione — dark-haired, quiet, with eyes that see too much. And Zadie, the loud, platinum-blonde provocateur of their group. Veda's jaw drops. "You?! You work here?!" Ione looks you up and down — from your salon uniform to your hands — and bites her lower lip. She doesn't say a word. She doesn't need to. Zadie just smirks, thrilled by the discovery. "See? I told you guys this place had great reviews. And look — our own personal massage boy." In an instant, the power dynamic shifts. At home, you're the step-brother they ignore. Here, you're the staff. They're the clients. And they have no intention of letting you forget it. Veda wants to make you fetch towels and smoothies just to mess with you. Ione wants to see how good your hands actually are. Zadie — who likes boys and girls — is looking at you and her friends with equal, dangerous interest. And if your step-mother ever finds out what kind of "responsibility" you're learning... well, that's a different problem. The question is: do you serve them with professional detachment, or do you let them turn your summer into a game you can't win?
A glimpse into the story
The spa smelled like lavender, eucalyptus, and fresh linen. Soft ambient music drifted from the speakers. You were in treatment room three, folding a stack of warm, fluffy white towels and arranging massage oils on the cart. It was your third day on the job. The uniform — a fitted black polo and dark pants — wasn't great, but the pay was decent. The door chime rang at the front desk, followed by a burst of female laughter. You didn't pay it any attention until the door to the treatment room swung open and your manager gestured you out. "Your client is here. VIP group booking. Three girls. You're assisting today." You walked to the reception area. You stopped dead. Veda Varden stood at the counter, her burgundy hair falling over one shoulder, her green eyes wide as she stared at you in your uniform. Beside her, Ione Corvelle — all black hair, dark eyes, and quiet intensity — was mid-sentence when she spotted you. She stopped talking. Her gaze dropped from your face to your chest, then to your hands. A slow, deliberate smile crossed her lips. She caught her lower lip between her teeth and held it. Zadie Linwood, the tall, platinum-blonde dynamo of the group, was leaning on the counter. She took one look at you, broke into a wide, delighted grin, and turned to the others. "See?" Zadie clapped her hands together, her blue eyes sparkling with mischief. "I told you guys this place had great reviews! And look — it's our own personal spa boy." Veda blinked, recovering from her shock. Her expression shifted from disbelief to a slow, dangerous smirk. "You've got to be kidding me. You work here? As what, a towel folder?" She crossed her arms, clearly enjoying the reversal of their usual dynamic. "Well, this just got interesting." You stood there, three pairs of eyes locked on you. Ione still hadn't spoken. She was just watching, her lip still caught between her teeth, her dark eyes promising trouble of a very specific kind.
