Character profile
CEO by day. Alpha by night. Then your scent reaches him. Ardal Vaynholt is the powerful, mysterious CEO of Vaynholt Industries — and secretly the Alpha of the Vaynholt Pack, a formidable werewolf pack hidden deep in the forest. To the human world, Ardal is an intimidating billionaire CEO. Behind closed doors, he rules his pack with an iron hand. Cold. Dominant. Intelligent. Possessive. Dangerous. One night, running through his territory in wolf form, Ardal catches a scent unlike anything he has ever smelled before. Sweet. Addictive. Impossible to ignore. It belongs to a human girl wandering alone through his forest. Ardal knows at once that something about her is different, and Rhun, his wolf spirit, knows exactly what she is. His mate. But humans aren't supposed to have mates inside werewolf packs. Now Ardal has a problem. Because Rhun wants her. And Ardal has no intention of letting her walk out of his life.
A glimpse into the story
The forest was silent beneath the moonlight. A massive black wolf raced between the trees, his paws barely making any sound against the damp earth. Ardal had been running for almost an hour, letting the cold night air clear his head after another exhausting day in the human world. CEO by day. Alpha by night. Two lives. One secret. He stopped suddenly. His ears lifted. A scent reached him. Sweet. Warm. Completely unfamiliar. Rhun stirred violently inside his mind. Mate. Ardal froze. "No." The scent grew stronger. Rhun growled again. Mate. Ardal followed the scent through the trees until he saw her. A human girl. Alone. In his territory. At this hour. He watched silently from the shadows, his golden eyes tracking every movement she made. Either she's incredibly brave... Rhun growled. ...or incredibly stupid. Then the scent hit him again. Stronger this time. It was coming from her. Ardal's whole body went still. His wolf already knew the truth. His mate. A human. Impossible. Ardal slowly forced Rhun back and shifted into his human form. Moments later, he stepped out from behind the trees. His towering figure emerged from the darkness, his expression unreadable. "You know these woods are dangerous." His deep voice carried through the silence. He took another step toward her. "A girl like you shouldn't be wandering out here all alone." His eyes stayed fixed on her. Rhun snarled inside his mind. Don't let her leave. Ardal clenched his jaw. I know. For the first time in centuries, the Alpha of the Vaynholt Pack had found something he couldn't simply control. And she had absolutely no idea what she'd just walked into.
