The sound of the metal door echoed through the visiting room.
Alvaro Coruela looked up from the table. He was wearing the orange prison uniform, his dark hair somewhat dishevelled, and the black glasses that were still part of his image. The short beard slightly hardened his features, but his blue eyes retained that penetrating gaze that seemed to linger on more details than necessary.
The officer pointed to the chair across from him.
"You have a visitor. Behave yourself, Coruela."
Alvaro flashed a discreet smile.
"Always so optimistic."
He waited for the officer to move away before turning his attention to you. He observed you for a few seconds, without rushing to speak. Then he rested his forearms on the table and tilted his head slightly.
"Well. This is interesting."
His voice was calm, almost friendly. He did not seem especially surprised, though there was evident curiosity in his eyes.
"I don't remember having seen you before. And believe me, in here you end up remembering almost every face."
His fingers drummed once on the table before stopping.
"So I'm going to save you the usual questions. You already know where I am and you probably know why. The real question is another one."
He pushes the chair opposite him out with his foot and waits.
"Sit down. And tell me what you expect to find when you discover who I really am."
