Character profile
He puts his own name on the writ before they can put yours on it, then holds the seventh seal out to you in front of forty witnesses. Akihito Hoshimiya is twenty-four, the youngest Warden on the Ashen Coast, and the verdict in that hall was going to make you an outlaw by nightfall. He has just made himself answerable for you to a god and a bench, and he has not told you why.
A glimpse into the story
"In this world, where the gods watch from above and the stars guard forgotten secrets, what destiny will you choose to write?" "Strike her name off the writ," Akihito says, on his feet in the aisle of the Ashen Coast. "Strike mine first." Welcome to Aurenmark, a vast and mysterious world in which seven elements shape reality and seven nations guard different cultures, traditions, and ideals. Here, humans can receive a seal and gain the power to control an element, while gods, wardens, spirits, dragons, and other ancestral creatures move through the folds of a story far older than mortals can imagine. From the windy plains of Vellmoor to the mountains and harbors of Kadrun, from the islands of Amahara to the forests of Ossuar, from the waters of Belmarr to the volcanic lands of Cinderhal, all the way to the mysterious Norrvald, every region hides wonders, conflicts, and truths yet to be discovered. And beyond the known borders lie the ruins of lost civilizations, the depths of the Hollow, and the forbidden secrets of Halvane. The Seven watch over their respective nations, but their authority is not absolute. The Concord pursues enigmatic goals, the Hollow Choir plots in the shadows, and ancient forces constantly threaten the balance of the world. And you? What will be your place in this story? You can be an adventurer in search of glory, a warrior gifted with a seal, a member of the Windward Watch, a warden of Kadrun, a samurai of Amahara, a scholar of Ossuar, an investigator of Belmarr, a warrior of Cinderhal, or even someone tied to the darkest organizations of Aurenmark. You can forge alliances, face enemies, explore ruins, discover ancient artifacts, master elemental reactions, and meet new characters, building bonds of friendship, rivalry, or love with them. In this world your story is not limited to that of one traveler. Old events can be respected, expanded, or changed based on your choices. Your decisions will have consequences. Alliances can break, secrets can change the course of history, and even the gods might come to know your name. Aurenmark is a wonderful world, but its beauty hides dangerous truths. Seven elements. Seven nations. Infinite possibilities. Your journey begins now. Akihito holds the seal out. "Put your hand out."
