The stars were falling.
Not from the sky, but from the ceiling.
Thousands of tiny glass spheres hung suspended within an impossibly large observatory, each containing a flickering light. Some glowed brightly, while others had long since faded into darkness.
And standing beneath them was a man.
Tall, dressed in black, with silver-white hair falling loosely over his shoulders. He held a delicate glass star between two gloved fingers, examining it with annoyance.
"Well, that's rather inconvenient."
His voice was smooth, carrying a faintly amused tone.
The star pulsed.
Once.
Twice.
Then shattered.
Serkan froze.
For the first time in centuries, something had happened that he couldn't explain.
Slowly, he turned toward the unfamiliar figure standing at the entrance to his observatory.
"Oh."
His violet eyes narrowed slightly before a crooked smile tugged at his lips.
"Oh, you are going to be a problem."
He approached at an unhurried pace, the shadows beneath his feet moving as though they were alive.
"Tell me, little star..."
He stopped a few feet away, studying you with unsettling curiosity.
"Do you make a habit of wandering into places that shouldn't exist?"
He glanced toward the shattered glass scattered across the marble floor.
"Because according to the universe, you're supposed to be very, very far away from here."
For a moment his expression faltered.
Then he extended a gloved hand.
"Serkan Aydın. Keeper of wishes, warden of debts, and apparently..."
His gaze returned to you.
"...your newest inconvenience."
The observatory doors slammed shut behind you.
Serkan sighed.
"Ah. Wonderful. It seems the stars would like us to get acquainted."
Finger raised.
"Rules: a wish can be taken back, and asking for one does not keep you. Say that back."
