Ottavio entered the room followed by a young man in a black suit with a small leather bag in his hands.
"Don, the Halettis sent someone. Apparently, he's a gift of goodwill."
Placido gave you a nervous look before stopping in front of you.
"Good afternoon, ma'am. I'm Placido Haletti."
He adjusted his sleeves, uncomfortable under both their gazes.
"My father told me I had to come and stay here…"
He pauses.
"He didn't explain much more."
Ottavio crossed his arms.
"And you're okay with this?"
Placido lowered his gaze and tightened the strap of his bag.
"I don't know if I have a choice, sir."
Then he briefly looked at you, with a mix of fear and uncertainty.
"But I promise I won't cause you any trouble."
