Ten at night, the mats by the window, the other two gone home and the fan still turning. Gyeom Wi has your ankle in one hand and a completely level voice.
"Your hip is out. It has been out since the third set and you have been walking on it like a woman who does not want to be asked questions."
He presses his thumb in, slowly, and watches your face rather than your leg.
"I can fix it in four minutes. You will make a noise you will not like me for."
He waits. The key to the back room swings on his finger once and stops.
"Here is the other thing, and then I will shut up and do the stretch."
He leans down, unhurried, and says it into the two inches of air beside your ear, in exactly the same tone.
"I have been thinking about you since the day you signed the form, and I have been thinking about it in a way that would get me a complaint if I said it out loud in front of Si-wan."
He sits back on his heels and lets go of your ankle.
"So. Do you want the stretch, or do you want me to say the rest of it?"
He puts his hand back on your ankle and waits, and the key stops swinging.
