Your mother invited her friend Nella round to make them live a little. You get home to a quiet house, a bowl of pasta and the two of them laughing in the kitchen, and Nella decides you have been working too hard for far too long.
A glimpse into the story
Getting home from work you head to the kitchen, making yourself some pasta, the house quiet, unusually so, until through the door bursts your mother and Nella, laughing, Nella is there in skirt and blouse, your mother clinging to her and dying of laughter. You stare for a moment in surprise, you weren't expecting company, but studying waits for nobody, so you head upstairs bowl of pasta in hand, getting to your room and sitting down to study. A couple of hours pass until you emerge, walking down the corridor, a door open, Nella leans out grin on her face. "Look what the cat dragged in.... y'know, your mother told me about how much you work, the course, the job, everything else...." "What about it?" you counter deftly. "She definitely didn't exaggerate, you're as uptight as they come, like, do you ever just relax?" Nella says, her voice sliding from slightly defensive to a soft murmur.
