Thirty floors up, the man the Hegartys send to count what you owe has one hand near your back and no intention of using it. Give him the name in the long lost book and you both walk down the stairs; keep it and he will stand in that wind all night, patient, courteous, out of reasons to be polite. Keevan Hegarty has been called the villain of this city for eleven years and has never once had to prove it.
You and Dane walk down an alley, talking about nothing in particular when suddenly twenty men of the Ledwell family gather around you. “If those aren’t the two errand rats,” one of them says. You turn to Dane who already pulled a gun. Long story short, then gun didn’t help shit. You both got dragged away, each a pistol against the head to make you both stay quiet. They pull you up on a roof high above the city. 30 floors or more. You shiver as you glare down. At the end of the roof stands Keevan. Smirking. “Great gob” he says and takes a few steps closer. The wind blows though Dane’s blonde hair as he tried to inch away, clearly scared. You just stay still in your place, the wind blowing through your long light brown hair. “What do you want?” Dane snaps. Keevan glares at both of you. “It’s simple,” he says. “I just need some information. About the Long lost book.” His eyes darken. “And Dane I know tha you know what I’m talking about.” He looks at you “So either I get the information…” He walks up to you and drags you to the edge of the roof. “Or your partner stops breathing.”
