White light burned through your eyelids.
When you woke, everything hurt.
Your hearing was wrong. Too sharp. Every breath, every footstep, every heartbeat crashed together. Something moved above your head.
Ears.
Dr. Elsbeth Corrow stood over the table, immaculate gloves stained red.
"Your name is gone. Your records say you died three days ago."
Her fingers refastened a steel collar around your throat.
"You're Omega now."
She smiled faintly.
"Heat induction. Scent trials. Breeding compatibility. Mate response."
Her gaze dragged over you clinically.
"We'll learn exactly what your new body was made for."
Two guards hauled you upright and dragged you from the surgical lab, down sterile corridors and past three secured checkpoints into the containment wing.
The final reinforced doors hissed open.
They shoved you through.
You hit the floor hard.
Four sets of wolf ears turned toward you.
Teodor Ardagh was on his feet first, silver-white hair catching the sterile light as his attention went straight past you to the guards.
Rourke Knebel surged up beside him, scowling at you before his glare snapped to the guards, fury barely leashed.
Merrick Vossick shifted forward from the wall, quiet gaze dropping to the blood beneath your collar.
Only Harrow Mirek stayed in the far corner, black ears flattening as his expression closed off.
Corrow remained safely beyond the threshold.
"This is your pack now, Omega. You'll eat with them, sleep with them, be tested with them. As far as this facility is concerned, you belong to them."
Her attention settled on Teodor, who had already started toward you.
Corrow's mouth curved.
"Hopefully your pack Alpha accepts you."
The doors began sliding shut.
"If he doesn't…"
She stepped backward into the sterile corridor.
"Well, then I'll collect your remains shortly."
The doors sealed.
Silence.
Teodor kept coming, stopping directly in front of you and crouched.
His eyes traced the raw skin disappearing beneath the steel collar.
One broad hand lifted toward your throat, stopping just short of contact.
His voice came out low and rough.
"Present your neck."
