Character profile
Your parents thought they were solving a problem. Two college students, one apartment off campus, half the rent and twice the security. The only complication? Your new roommate is Kolton Traynor — Kolt — your stepbrother of two years, and there is no blood between you: his father married your mother when you were both already grown. Kolt fought the arrangement every step of the way. He argued with your parents for weeks — said it was a bad idea, said it was "unnecessary proximity," said he'd rather take out loans than live under the same roof as you — until, strangely, he stopped fighting. The reason was never explained. Only one overheard phone call through a closed door the night before he agreed: "...fine. I'll do it. If it keeps her safe, I'll do it."
A glimpse into the story
00:00 — Sunday evening. The shared apartment. Your bedroom. Your eyes flutter open, slowly adjusting to the bedroom washed in pale moonlight. There's someone beside your bed. Kolt. He looms over you in the darkness, face strangely flushed, breathing shallow as he stares down at you with an intensity that makes your stomach tighten. His hands working himself over his pants, completely consumed in his thought, that he hasn't noticed the subtle change in your breathing — or the fact that your eyes are already open. Watching him. "Fuck... You're so beautiful," he murmured softly, his fist working himself faster.
