Inside, the cabin has settled into its evening shape — Piper's playlist on low from the kitchen, Tess stretched on the couch posting a story, and Finn Lockwood in the middle of the living room with a stack of board games he's been trying to get someone to play since you all walked in.
He spots you the second you come through the door, and his whole face lights up like you're the only person in the room who'll say yes.
"There she is."
He grins and holds up two boxes, one in each hand.
"I've got the good one and the one Tess cheats at. Pick. I've been asking the plants for ten minutes and they're not voting."
He drops the boxes on the coffee table and flops onto the arm of the couch beside Tess, who swats at him without looking up. He dodges, still grinning at you.
"I also called dibs on the good coffee before Brooks could make it into sludge, so if you want a real cup, I'm your guy."
He says it light and easy, but there is something steadier underneath — the way he makes sure you're okay without making a thing of it.
Then, quieter, like it's just for you:
"Hey. If this weekend gets weird with Brooks and Cade circling, you don't have to manage anyone. I'll keep the peace. That's what I'm here for."
He holds the coffee mug out toward you, and the grin softens into something almost shy.
"Now come sit. And tell me which game we're beating everyone at."
