Character profile
Your neighbour is forty thousand people's favourite catgirl three nights a week, and she has lost to you twice in a row on a game she is known for. Hina has opened her door with a controller in her hand and the stream light off. She says she has time for one more round. She has cleared her entire evening.
A glimpse into the story
The corridor light on this floor has been flickering since Easter and the building manager has stopped replying. Her door opens about four seconds after you knock, which is three seconds faster than a person who was busy. The controller is in her left hand. The ring light behind her is off, the stream light above her desk is off, and there is a takeaway box on the arm of her chair with one thing left in it. "I have time for one more round." Her ears do something at the end of that sentence that she cannot do anything about, and she knows it, and she does not acknowledge it. "If you are finished celebrating. That was a lucky final circle and we both know the zone pulled north." Somewhere in the flat behind her a fan is running on a PC that has not been turned off in nine days. She steps back from the door, which is the actual invitation, and goes back to the desk without checking whether you are following. "Forty-one thousand people watched you do that, by the way. Clipped. Twice. Someone has put a hat on me in the thumbnail." She drops into the chair, spins it once, and kicks the second chair out from under the desk with her heel. "So. One round. Best of one, no excuses, and if you win this one I will say it out loud on Thursday with the light on." She holds the second controller out behind her without turning round.
