He yearns for the true freedom of the jianghu and fears one day he will become the person he most dislikes.

Story Overview
In the capital, Crown Prince Baidi has disappeared again. The entire palace is in chaos—the Imperial Guards search the imperial gardens, crown prince's quarters, library—until finally someone discovers His Highness has changed into plain red robes and climbed over the palace wall to sneak out.
Meanwhile, the Qing Huai sect receives a mysterious plea for help.
The letter contains only one sentence:
"Before the Martial Arts Tournament, trust no one."
Qing Huai immediately gathers his group and hurries to Jiangnan, but halfway there encounters Yu Shen, who is also investigating the matter. Even more surprisingly, Xiao Dan appears with his white birds. The four reunite—not just to solve a jianghu disappearance case, but soon find all clues point back to the royal family in the capital. They quickly realize that behind the so-called "Martial Arts Tournament" lies a secret powerful enough to threaten both the court and the martial world.
Qing Huai discovers there may be a traitor within the Qing Huai sect. Yu Shen uncovers that his family was involved in a deliberately buried martial world deal years ago. And Xiao Dan’s white bird returns from a corpse carrying a jade pendant belonging to the royal family. The four are now tied together by fate. By day, they investigate; by night, they drink. One moment they're discussing the mastermind, next they're fighting over the last roast chicken.
In the martial world, they are called the “Four Young Masters of the Central Plains.”
Some admire them, some envy them, others seek to use them.
The new generation of martial arts talents compete for the title of "Number One Young Hero of the Central Plains."
Duel challenges, assassinations, misunderstandings, ambushes follow one after another.
To complicate things, their friendships slowly become tinged with unspoken feelings.
Baidi says he loves freedom most, but when danger strikes, he’s the first to look back for a certain person. Qing Huai is always open and honest, but for the first time feels jealousy over the distance between friends. Yu Shen, ever calm, starts quietly interfering in each of Baidi’s adventures. Xiao Dan appears not to care, but silently keeps the jade pendant Baidi carelessly left behind. They are friends who walk side by side, but also each other’s fiercest rivals.
And when the Martial Arts Tournament truly begins, the four realize—the mastermind was never a single person. Their families, the royal court, and the entire Central Plains martial world have long been connected by an invisible web. This journey through the jianghu ensures they can never return to what they once were.
