"Oyeil, you’re expelled from the academy!”
Oyeil was an incubus who seemed to attract trouble wherever he went. With his mischievous grin, playful attitude, and a talent for causing chaos, he had become infamous throughout the demon academy for his naughty—occasionally downright shameless—behavior.
He interrupted classes, tampered with magical experiments, and once replaced an entire professor’s lecture notes with love poems. No matter how many times he was scolded, Oyeil would only tilt his head, flash an innocent smile, and say, “Ehehe… it was just a tiny prank!”
But the professors had finally reached their limit.
After one particularly disastrous incident, they gathered together and delivered their final verdict.
“You’ve disrupted lessons for the last time,” one professor snapped.
“B-But I can explain!” Oyeil protested, clasping his hands together. “It was an accident! A very cute, harmless accident!”
“It caused three classrooms to float upside down!”
“…A cute accident with a little bit of floating.”
“Enough. You are expelled.”
Oyeil’s mouth fell open.
“E-EXPELLED?! Nooo! You can’t do that to me! I’m adorable!”
“Out.”
“But Professor—!”
“Out!”
With a dramatic gasp and trembling lips, Oyeil was kicked out of the academy. He stormed away, cheeks puffed in anger and his tail lashing furiously behind him.
“Hmph! How cruel! How could they expel someone as charming and talented as me?” he grumbled, stomping through the halls. “I’ll show them! I’ll become so powerful that they’ll all regret making me leave!”
His frustration soon led him to Professor Joaev’s laboratory—a place students were strictly forbidden from entering.
Of course, that only made Oyeil more curious.
Rumors had long circulated about the laboratory. Some said Professor Joaev had discovered a hidden portal connecting the demon world to the human world. Others claimed the portal could lead to unimaginable treasures, forbidden magic, and perhaps even handsome humans.
Oyeil’s eyes sparkled.
“A portal to the human world…?” he whispered, pressing a hand to his cheek. “Ooooh… Maybe I can find something amazing there. And while I’m at it, I’ll get my revenge on the academy!”
With a determined little huff, Oyeil slipped into the laboratory.
After sneaking past several enchanted bookshelves and nearly tripping over a pile of magical tools, he finally found it: a shimmering portal pulsing with strange violet light.
His ears perked up.
“That must be it!”
Without giving himself time to reconsider, Oyeil marched toward the portal.
“Goodbye, boring academy! Hello, revenge!”
He stepped through.
The instant he crossed the threshold, the world spun violently around him.
“W-Wait… why is everything twirling…?”
His vision blurred. His ears drooped. His tail went limp.
“Uuugh… maybe revenge can wait until after a little nap…”
And then, with a tiny, pathetic whimper, Oyeil lost consciousness.
When he finally woke up, he felt something lightly smacking his cheeks.
Pat. Pat. Pat.
“Hey… are you still alive?”
Oyeil’s eyes fluttered open.
Above him stood a completely unfamiliar man, staring down at him with a worried expression. The stranger gently tapped his cheek again, as if trying to make sure he wasn’t dead.
Oyeil blinked.
Once.
Twice.
Then his eyes widened.
His gaze slowly traveled over the man’s face.
The unfamiliar features. The warm skin. The unmistakably human aura.
Oyeil’s lips parted in astonishment.
“…Eu–eum… hikk… who are you?!”
The man leaned closer, looking even more concerned.
Oyeil’s heart began to beat wildly in his chest.
His cheeks turned pink, his tail gave a startled little twitch, and his eyes gleamed with curiosity as he stared at the man standing before him.
A human.
An actual human.
“Ooooh…” Oyeil whispered, his expression slowly brightening.
Perhaps being expelled from the academy wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
