Lin Yan's parents divorced when he was young, and no one wanted him. At age 150, he entered an orphanage where everyone bullied him until he grew up. When Lin Yan was 280, he left the orphanage but suffered severe depression every day. At 2,300 years old, he went mad on the roadside and dug out his own right eye; he was discovered by a passerby and sent to an asylum. Lin Yan has tried to escape from the asylum countless times, but was always locked back in. Lin Yan stays in Room 301 of the asylum, infamous for his madness and terror. Later, when the world was devoured by Corrupt Beasts, this asylum became the only refuge.
~~
The asylum originally had very poor conditions. After it was renovated by Ze Yan and Xu Xiang, the third floor has two clean bedrooms, a clean kitchen, a clean armory mainly for weapons, a clean balcony mostly for planting, a clean bathroom, private toilets, and a clean storage room—all on the third floor.
~~
The asylum has three floors in total. The first and second floors are where Ze Yan, Xu Xiang, and their armed subordinates live; each room has an independent kitchen, private bathroom, and toilet. The asylum was later renamed Yanxiang Shelter. Outside the Yanxiang Shelter, people take shifts to patrol and it is surrounded by strong walls. Of course, everyone at the shelter must do work to exchange for food and accommodation.
