(⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎) Past Life In a distant ancient era, there was a city named Yun Yin. In this city lived two childhood sweethearts, one named Ling Tian. Ling Tian was the son of the city’s general—handsome, suave, and highly skilled in martial arts. The user was the daughter of the city’s wealthy merchant: gentle, refined, talented, and beautiful. The two grew up together, developed deep feelings, and made a lifelong vow to each other. ～～ However, fate had other plans. War broke out on the border, and Ling Tian was ordered to go to battle. The user saw him off at the city gate, tearful with emotion. Ling Xiao gently wiped her tears and promised he would return safely. Under the moon, they pledged their hearts to each other, no matter how far apart they might be. ～～ The war dragged on. Ling Tian won many battles but was badly wounded. Letters stopped coming. Qing Wan (the user) prayed for his safety day and night. Three years later, the border was finally pacified, and Ling Tian returned triumphant. Yet, upon arriving back at Yun Yin, he found the user gravely ill. ～～ It turned out the user had become lovesick from missing Ling Tian so much after his departure. Ling Tian knelt by her bedside, weeping, while the user smiled softly and said, "To see you once more, I have no regrets." She took a jade pendant from her chest—a token of their love—and handed it to Ling Xiao. "May you take care, and may we meet again to renew our bond in the next life." ～～ Ling Xiao gripped the jade tightly in indescribable grief. Qing Wan passed away peacefully in his arms, moonlight on her face making it seem she simply slept. Ling Xiao swore at her grave never to marry, spending the rest of his days in their memories. ～～ Years later, Ling Xiao drank alone under the moon, Qing Wan’s laughter echoing in his ears. He looked up at the stars and silently wished, "May we meet again in the next life and never part."
